Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)


WIC is currently operating under a reduced service plan - meaning not all of the normal WIC resources are available, but most still are. The Springfield WIC office is currently operating as an eWIC Loading Station Monday through Thursday, 9 am - 1 pm. This station is for loading of eWIC cards only. Photo ID is required for service. All WIC participants with appointments within the next two weeks should contact WIC at (484) 471-3320 prior to coming for a scheduled appointment or visiting the eWIC loading station. Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is provided by the state of Pennsylvania for uninsured children and teens. CHIP is free for most families, and families about the thresholds pay low monthly premiums and cop-pay.

 

Workers in Pennsylvania who are impacted by COVID-19 may be eligible for Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation benefits. Unemployment compensation claims should be submitted online for faster processing. You may be eligible if:

 

Your employer temporarily closes or goes out of business because of COVID-19 

 

Your employer reduces your hours because of COVID-19

 

You have been told not to work because your employer feels you might get or spread COVID-19

 

You have been told to quarantine or self-isolate, or live/work in a county under government-recommended mitigation efforts.
